All Things Penn State Football in Happy Valley is one of the most enjoyable events I have attended. As a student, I attended just about every game. I loved cheering on the Nittany Lions. It was so awesome to wear their sports apparel to support the team. Furthermore, there is just so much to do in all 4 seasons for visitors of all ages.
- Winter: There are so many winter activities, whether you are looking for outdoor adventures or just relaxing indoors with a nice warm drink cozied up by a fireplace. Outdoor activities available are skiing, snowboarding, snowmobiling, and cross-country skiing.

- Other Activities: Penn State also has nearby golf courses, mini-golf, bowling, an all-water cavern, you can also see artifacts from Christopher Columbus at Boal Mansion and Columbus Chapel. In Addition, there are other museums to visit as well.

- Explore The Many Trails In The Area: If you are adventurous and love to hike, then you will want to check out some the nearby trails. One of the most popular trails to do is Mount Nittany Loop. There are two trails to choose from; one is 3.5 miles round trip and the other is 4.6 miles round trip. There is such awesome scenery on these trails and you will see a bird’s-eye view of the Penn State Campus and the town. If you have young children you may want to Hike the Alan Seeger Natural Area. It is an easier trail which is located in Rothrock State Forest. And there’s Shingletown Gap which is also in Rothrock State Forest. There are trails rating from easy to difficult. They all have great scenery and when you’re done you can go back to campus and visit the infamous Berkey Creamery for something refreshing.
- The Berkey Creamery: This Famous Creamery has been around since 1865 and is located right on campus. They have always been dedicated to the quality of their ice cream and they offer many flavors. One of the favorites is “Peachy Paterno”. However, they have a flavor for everyone. This is a Must Stop Place when you visit Penn State. It’s just part of the Penn State experience.
- The Arboretum At Penn State: Take a walk through the ground of this amazing 365 acre Botanical Haven. this shows the beauty of nature and the artistry of horticulture at it’s best. The gardens are meticulously shaped and they have diverse horticultural collections. As you walk through, you will see it is very tranquil with water features with seating along the way to sit and really enjoy it. It’s a place you can truly relax. Furthermore, it’s a great place to take your kids, as they have event as and educational programs to engage all.
- Happy Hour: Happy hour at Penn State is something for those of you that love to try unique flavors of beer. There are multiple Breweries around the area, but one of the Stand Out Breweries is Happy Valley Brewery.
